NVQ Construction Award Alliance Wood Occupations - Site Carpentry and Bench Joinery (Level 3)
Course content:
This course is ideal for people who wish to gain their NVQ Level 3 qualification in wood occupations after completing NVQ Level 2 qualification and want to progress onto Foundation Degree in Construction Management. It consists of 6 units; 4 core subjects dealing with Health and Safety, Company Work Practices and Procedures, the remaining 2 units are trade specific.
Entry requirements:
There are no formal qualifications for the award; however, you must must be employed within the Construction Industry and able to meet the criteria of the course programme.
Course modules:
Mandatory Units:
-Health and Safety
-Conform Work Activities and Resources for the Work
-Develop and Maintain Good Working Relationships
-Confirm Occupational Method of Work.
Trade Units (any 2 from 4 Units):
- Install First Fix Components
- Erect Complex Carcassing Components
- Replace and Maintain Structural Components
- Set Up and Use Static/Transportable Machinery.
Time commitment:
One year on a part-time basis with 6 hours in College per week.
Assessment:
On Site Assessments, College Reviews and End of Unit Exams.
Progression:
Upon successful completion of this course you could apply for the Foundation Degree In Construction Management
Additional information:
Learners will require Safety Boots and Overalls.
