Level 2 and Level 3 Early Years students recently visited the University Campus Aylesbury Vale to attend a seminar. They were visited by previous students and local businesses to find out more about the opportunities available to them after completing their course and potential career paths they could follow.
The seminar began with Kim Bird, a previous Aylesbury College student, talking about her experience. Kim gave details on the course she did, the steps she took after her course and how the skills she gained from the qualification and work placement were implemented into her current role as a teaching assistant.
There were also talks from Child Base Partnership, Grasshopper’s Day Nursery and Willow’s Day Nursery. The Nursery Managers shared their experiences and paths they had taken to get to their current roles, and provided students with information as to current vacancies for jobs and apprenticeships. Students also had the opportunity to speak to the Care Forum which is a company who works with children with disabilities, and left the event feeling inspired and excited to explore the different opportunities available.
