Students from Sport, Public Services and Plumbing joined together to represent the Aylesbury College in this year’s Mark Webber Youth Challenge which was hosted at RAF Halton.
Six colleges competed in the annual event on the 11th May 2017, participating in an array of different physical activities where they were scored on their performance. The tasks challenged the students’ physical ability, teamwork and communication skills in a range of different exercises.
Activities included racing up the so-called ‘Cardiac Hill’, perfecting teamwork skills on the ropes, a camouflage exercise and military-style drill. RAF personnel were on hand to guide the teams and actively participated in giving guidance and strategic support.
The winners of this year’s Challenge were Oxford City college with Banbury following closely behind in second place.
Students and staff enjoyed the time they spent challenging minds and bodies.
