Metropolitan Police officer and part-time Aylesbury College student, Tom Harrison, has risen to fame by crawling the London Marathon ‘gorilla-style’, dressed as a gorilla to raise money for The Gorilla Organization, a charity which works to save the world's last remaining gorillas in the wild from extinction.
Going by the name ‘Mr Gorilla’, Tom has attracted the attention of major news outlets, has been interviewed on radio and even appeared on live TV. Five days in, he passed the halfway point of the 26.2 mile route, and was live tweeting his progress on Twitter. Having gained a huge amount of support he has raised more than £40,000 for the charity.
Tom is in his second year studying counselling at Aylesbury College and has tweeted his thanks to the college’s students for their support.
