Students Attend Anti-Bullying Conference

Bucks Safeguarding Children’s Board ran a Professionals Anti Bullying Conference where information was discussed between professionals and guest speakers regarding the effects of bulling and how it can be combated.  Attendees were asked to write pledges that could be trialled back to College, with the hope that they could go some way to stamp out bullying in the College, including Cyber Bullying.

Last month 4 students Alice Baker, Greta Stone, Tanzeelah Nabi and Lee Capon, from a variety of different courses attended the event which was for students from schools all over Buckinghamshire. The event was held at Green Park, and guest speakers came to talk about how they can use inclusion to combat bullying and young people feeling isolated.  This was discussed by the Head Teacher of Booker Park School, Sarah Westcott, who also spoke about young people with learning difficulties and those who are ‘different’ to main stream students.

The hope is for the College students to meet on a monthly basis to discuss outcomes, and for this group to grow.
