Introduction
The BTEC First Diploma in Sport has been developed in the sport and active leisure sector to provide education and training for sport, leisure and recreation employees. It offers opportunities for sport,
leisure and recreation employees to achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 vocationally specific qualification. It gives you the opportunity to enter employment in the sport
and active leisure sector or to progress to vocational qualifications such as the Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Sport and Sport and Exercise Sciences.
What Will I Learn
Students will gain the opportunity to learn about and understand Sport and Fitness in the health industry. Practical sessions form an important aspect of the course, enabling you to develop skills that are needed to work in leisure centres, sports retail outlets and gyms. These skills and knowledge will enable you to better understand the industry and support you in moving into employment.

How Will I Be Assessed?
You will carry out a range of in-depth assignments and practical assessments to complete this course.
Entry Requirements
2 GCSEs at grade C (preferably English and /or, Science & PE).
19 plus students with industry experience will be considered, OR level 1 Sport Qualification

You are required to buy equipment: Approx. £180 inc a uniform and books
Progression
The direct progression from this course is to a Level 3 Sport qualification.
