If you are taking your GCSEs this summer then now is the time to apply for your course at Aylesbury College. We have places available on all of our full-time programmes starting in September, but they are filling up fast.
Applying is straightforward - everything is online which means that you can make your application quickly and easily and we receive it straight away. So if you're ready to apply - here's how to do it.
Make your online application
Once you’ve found the course that’s just right for you, go to the course page on the website and click the orange Apply Now button at the top of the page.
This will take you to our online application system. You’ll need an email address, a parent or carer's email address and information about your achieved or predicted exam grades.
It’s important that you take your time and complete the form fully – our Tutors will be looking at your application before and during your interview and it forms an important part of our decision making process.
Once you’re happy – click submit. If there’s any essential information that you haven’t completed then you’ll be informed at this point.
Arranging your interview
Once you submit your application you’ll receive an email confirming we’ve received it. Then our Admissions team will call you on the phone number you’ve provided to arrange an interview. If we miss you then we’ll leave a message – please call us back.
We’ll arrange a time for an interview that suits you and then we’ll send you an email to confirm the date and time - so keep an eye on your inbox.
For information about our interview process please visit this page: Your College Interview.
Interviews and offers
Our interviews are informal - you'll be having a chat with one of our Tutors and talking about your experience and why you want to do the course you have chosen.
At the end of the interview the Tutor will tell you the outcome. Usually this will be either:
- An offer for the course – which might be conditional on you achieving certain exam grades
- A reason why the Tutor doesn’t think that the course is right for you – with suggestions of alternative courses. The Tutor may tell you that they are referring you back to our Admissions team for further discussion with them. In this case we will contact you.
If you don’t think you have been told a clear outcome in your interview then please ask the Tutor – or contact Admissions on email@example.com or 01296 588595
If the Tutor has given you an offer for the course then you will receive an email confirming this. Again if this doesn’t happen please contact our Admissions team.
Once you’ve received your offer then you’re all set! We run information evenings in the summer for students and their parents and you will be invited to attend a session run by your department. There you will find out more about the course and when you’ll be enrolling. If you received a conditional offer then you’ll be told when you need to bring your exam results in.
If you ever have any questions or you’re not sure of the next step in the process then please just get in touch firstname.lastname@example.org 01296 588595
