Art and Design students from our Amersham campus at Buckinghamshire College Group have proudly contributed to a vibrant community artwork that is now on display at the Chiltern Lifestyle Centre. The project, completed last year by our Level 1 and Level 2 students, brought together young artists from three other local schools to create one large collaborative piece.
Each school received a collection of 20 x 20 cm mini canvases that formed part of a much larger image, similar to an artistic jigsaw puzzle. Students were asked to design their individual canvases using a shared colour palette and were encouraged to explore their own creative ideas while keeping in mind how their canvas would fit into the final picture.
The completed artwork is a large, colourful tree that represents growth, creativity and community. Our students created the browns and greens of the tree and approached the task with enthusiasm, experimenting with colour, texture and pattern to make each piece unique. Their canvases fit seamlessly into the finished display and highlight a wonderful blend of individuality and teamwork.
The artwork is now proudly displayed at the Chiltern Lifestyle Centre in Amersham, where members of the local community can view and enjoy it. For our students, seeing their work exhibited in a public space has been a rewarding and exciting experience that celebrates their hard work and creativity.
This collaboration has been a great success and is a fantastic celebration of creativity and community spirit.
Well done to all the students involved!
